Ett nytt nummer av Latinamerikainstitutets tidskrift Iberoamericana: Nordic Journal of Latin American and Caribbean Studies har kommit ut. Numret fokuserar på urbefolkningarnas allt starkare politiska inflytande i Sydamerika. Artiklarna är författade på engelska eller spanska.

Gästredaktörerna Silvia Ordoñez Ganoza och Alexandra Tomaselli skriver följande i förordet:

"We hope that this issue of Iberoamericana “The ‘New’ Role of Indigenous Peoples in South American Societies and their Political Influence: Developments and Challenges” may be a useful tool to reflect on the urgency of the (re)creation of spaces for political expression (and not only) of Indigenous peoples in the region, well beyond the academic community. The hope is to promote a dialogue between the actors themselves (states, indigenous and mainstream societies) to achieve the common goal of reducing social tensions and creating a bridge between the sectors of divided societies, such as South American ones."
